Vitreous enamel is a glass coating fused onto metal substrates (steel, cast iron, aluminum) at 750-850 degrees C to provide corrosion protection, chemical resistance, and decorative appearance.
Application Overview
Applications range from kitchen appliances (ovens, refrigerators, cooking pots) to bathtubs, chemical processing equipment, road signs, and architectural panels. Nepheline syenite and feldspar serve as flux materials in enamel frit formulations β providing SiO2, Al2O3, Na2O, and K2O to the glass composition. Our GP20 grade is particularly valuable for enamel frit production due to its five-oxide contribution (including CaO) from a single material, simplifying batch calculations and improving batch homogeneity. The absence of free silica in nepheline is an additional safety advantage for enamel frit production facilities.
