Sanitary ware β toilets, washbasins, bathtubs β requires materials producing strong, non-porous, white ceramic bodies with excellent glaze adhesion. Complete vitrification (water absorption <0.5%) is essential for hygiene.
Requirements
Unlike flat tiles, sanitary ware has complex 3D geometries that must maintain dimensional accuracy through firing. The ceramic body must vitrify completely but remain viscous enough to retain shape. White body color is essential for premium products.
Material Selection
Nepheline syenite provides high alumina for shape stability, broad firing range, and ultra-white body color through low FeβOβ. K-feldspar (SY101) provides higher melt viscosity for shape retention. Many sanitary ware formulations use both materials together. Recommended: K200 for white bodies + SY101 for shape stability.
