Container Loading Guide for Nepheline and Feldspar Shipments

Understanding how your nepheline or feldspar shipment is loaded helps you plan receiving logistics and verify shipment integrity.

Technical Details

Standard 20-foot container: maximum payload approximately 24-26 tons depending on container tare weight and shipping line weight limits. Jumbo bag loading: 20 x 1200kg FIBC bags = 24 tons. Bags are loaded in 2 rows of 10, standing upright on the container floor. Each bag is approximately 1.0m x 1.0m x 1.2m high. No pallets are used for jumbo bags (they sit directly on the container floor). Bags are secured with cross-strapping to prevent shifting during ocean transit.

Practical Application

Small bag loading: approximately 480 x 50kg bags = 24 tons. Bags are palletized (typically 40 bags per pallet, 12 pallets per container). Pallets are shrink-wrapped and secured with strapping. Weight distribution: mineral powder is dense — a 20ft container of nepheline weighs 24+ tons, well within the typical road weight limit of 27-28 tons (container + cargo + truck). However, some countries have stricter road weight limits — confirm with your logistics team. Documentation: each container is accompanied by commercial invoice, packing list (number of bags, gross/net weight), bill of lading, Certificate of Analysis, and Certificate of Origin.
